Knowledge Capital (President: Hideo Miyahara) and KMO Co., Ltd. (President: Hidetoshi Odashima) will be one of Hong Kong’s leading private companies from Monday, August 5, 2019 to Friday, August 9, 2019. In collaboration with the programming educational institution Koding Kingdom Hong Kong Limited (Founder & CEO: JOHN HUEN, hereinafter “Koding Kingdom”), we will hold a “Programming Course in English 2019 Summer” for junior high school and high school students.

Koding Kingdom offers a curriculum in Hong Kong for young to high school students to enhance digital literacy and improve interdisciplinary skills through programming education. As a joint program with Koding Kingdom, this course aims to develop human resources who can play an active role in the world, and provides junior and senior high school students with the opportunity to learn programming and robotics in English.
We offer 5 courses to practically learn the basics of programming using programming materials such as robot assembly and operation, VR game production, and Android application development. Lectures will be given in English by experienced teachers from Koding Kingdom, and Japanese university students will support them as assistants. This is an active learning type lecture, such as working on programming for each team and giving a presentation.

As a background to the compulsory programming education in elementary schools from 2020, it is required to develop the ability to think logically and creatively and discover and solve problems while effectively utilizing information technology. That can be mentioned. In this course, we will provide learning opportunities that contribute to the development of those abilities through not only programming but also communication in English, problem solving in teams, and presentations.
